Ive written about the gap in price that happens when you have good cards in more than one language, and I expect this to be a great example

On TCGPlayer , Blastoise ex is valued at a market price of $7.41 USD, and its Special Illustration Rare variant is valued at $37.50

This isn't so narrow that you can't usefully run it in a non-powered, non-combo cube but it is still very much one of those all in high roll old cards that isn't greatly balanced and that doesn't lead to the best games

Another New Beginning While the ex cards continue to appear, although only in Mega Evolved form here, Mega Evolution does represent something of a resetting of recent trends in the TCG
