Description
Some advanced counterfeits do try to imitate that finish
For 2 mana, it can counter mostly everything in the game, save for uncounterable spells
Messing with your opponent's manabase by blowing up mana rocks (Vandalblast) or lands (Ruination) can stop them from casting 2+ spells a turn
Meanwhile you can hold some counterspells or protection
In the battle between Absorb and other three-mana counters Absorb would almost always win out if it was easily castable, and it was even a small incentive to choose white over black as a secondary color
